We would be grateful for any Christians from anywhere in Pembrokeshire to join this.
The aim is to get 900 Christians there ? Hopefully!!
Are there 900 Christians in Pembrokeshire? AugustTeams are picked and allocated. We have over 110 churches involved divided into 36 different mision centres and 280 volunteers takeing part. Please pray for everyone involved that they will be mightly used by God empowered to do so by His Spirit.
JulyTFM are now gathering all the people who have volunteered to participate in WSD into teams and allocating them to various misison centres. There are 34 missiohn centres representing either singel or a number of churches working together. Most centres have submitted outline programmes so that the correct skill mix of volunteers can be developed.
Please pray that; The team member allcation goes well. That the right people wil be assigned to the best mission centre. That Churches will continue to develop their programmes and that the local congrgations will be enthuised to participate.
MayChurches are busy putting their teams and programs together. There has not ben as good a response from Churches in the week 1 area but weeks 2 & 3 are looking busy! Some positive prayer events took place in April. Please pray that; Planning will come together as details are put on to the outlines That those who have taken on roles will be sustianed - often the initial excitment can wear thin as the enormity of the task hits you! Aslo many ill feel attacked. We should see this as a positve sign that what is being planned is good and God wil be with us. As Paul reminds us in " Timothy ch 2 v 3, ".. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus." and in v10 ".. God's word is not chained." That those who have asked for Team Member application forms will complete them so we get on with allocating the right people tot he right Church.
MarchAnother busy month. The Team Member training in Aberystwyth was well attended as was the Church Brieifing event in Cardigan. However the Pembroke event had to be cancelled due to poor bookings. Please pray that; Churches will catch the enthusiasm of the Walk and want to join in Those who have signed up, which is many, will get down to planning and working out the logistics of all what is needed The right people will come forward to take on leading roles such as Local Coordinator, Prayer Coordinator, accommodation, food and events organisers.
February
A busy month with the first two Church briefing weekends at the beginng and the 2nd two at the end. A third pair will follow in March. The take up from churches in the south section is slow. Please pray that; More churches wil sign up and book to attend briefing events The TFM staff are putting a lot travelling in. Please pray for safety and concentration whilst driving. Please pray for the Task Force - for their enthuisiam to be infectious. Churches who have signed up are starting to put details into their programs. Please pray for those tasked to undertake this organisation.
January 2010A New Year and the countdown to the Walk seems to be running on a pace. TFM staff continue to try and reach as many contacts in churches in the missions area as possible. Preparations are being made for the Church Briefing events that start in February. Please pray for; Church leaders to be encouraged by the possibilities of missions. That they and others will plan to come to a briefing event. That more and more people will catch the vision.
December 2009As we approach the end of 2009, our thoughts are taken up with Christmas preparations and maybe even planning New Year resolutions! What will 2010 bring? Of course we can't know, yet that does not mean we cannot have a say in the matter.
Is this the year of revival for SW Wales? Only if we pray.
Is this the year we commit to sharing the Gospel with at least one other person? Only if we pray. Is this the year we commit to actually joining a mission as a team member? Only if we pray.
Only if we pray - let that be our resolution both for Christmas and the New Year.
November 2009We are currently in the Scouting phase. Representatives from TFM are visiting every Church (to the best of our knowledge) to invite the leaders to consider joining the Mission. Please pray for these visits, that they will be well received and that a fair assessment of involvement may be made.
